On the history of money there is a really good movie Money As Debt by Paul Grignon that is done in cartoon (nothing funny about it) fashion. It clearly shows how we have become a debt based society and that the banks don"t really lend any money when you go for a loan. You can watch for free at www.brasschecktv.com/page/135.html

Response to Shirley"s post. I have researched into the history of money. It is an eye opening experience. The Federal Reserve which I believed was a government institution. I found is a privately owned corporation. An audio by G. Edward Griffin (at www.fortruth.org go to the banking section ) explains in detail how and why the Federal reserve was set up. He explains how our money system works in detail. Good luck!

I will be teaching literature in first year (students are 13 mostly) at a bilingual school. Students are supposed to have an intermediate/upper int. level by now and I am not having much help in terms of what I should teach. They have not and it seems they will not give me any syllabus or bibliography...so I must do all the decisions as to what students will be reading....so any ideas are welcome...what do these kids like reading? Thanks

How do you determine when is the right time to refer a first grader for special education testing? Any suggestions?
