I enjoyed your websight. It's obvious that you have a lot of love for Aesop and his fables. I found this page while doing a search for "cats in literature". What I found in another book is that fables are the place to find these instances. Although Aesop didn't use cats very often, I did find two fables on your sight. I printed these and they will be included in an 8th grade literature assignment. Hey kids, visit the web sight. I'll be watching our guestbook for your greeting. Adios again.

I have been given a World War I souvenir, supposedly crafted by soldiers in their foxholes/bunkers, out of a 75 mm. brass shell. The entire shell has been formed into a vase, with a depiction of a fable on it. It fascinates me. My neighbor gave it to me. Her father served in the American military during WWI and met and married a french woman. The vase was brought by them to the USA after the war. I had been unsuccessful in learning more about the fable until I was directed to your website. The fable depicted is Aesop's The Wolf and the Crane! Thank you, thank you. Rosie

As a slave Aesop learned much wisdom watching people being mistreated. The rich people are probably in the parables, for being unwise. Today, we can learn from all classes of people. Each one has a different viewpoint. The least will often be first in honor. We need eternal Truth and rules from our Creator, and common sense education to live by. Thank you for sharing the wisdom from lowly people of long ago. People do not change much. We need to review often.

What a wonderful job...a Herculean effort. I (Kathy) am a first grade teacher and have always loved Aesop's Fables. I teach "The Tortoise and the Hare" in my classroom. I think having children read the fables and even allow their miscues and self-corrections adds to the authenticity. It would be most helpful if lower grade level versions were available. We are curious to know if you have any connection with education. Thank you again for this site.

This is just wonderful! I'm glad I kept searching because I tried to download Aesop's Fables and ran out of space. So, now I can just bookmark and then come here as desired. I can't wait for my 9 yr. old daug. to see this. She won't get it at first but she'll love the reading. She wants to write children's books. Actually has already written a few stories. And did quite well. We play a game. I start: "Once upon a time....." and give it to her to add a sentence or two. Then my turn again. It's really quite interesting how it turns out. It can be very funny, too! Thanks for doing this. I think it's just great! I personally have never read a word of Aesop, that I remember but always wanted to. So, this will be great for us both! Thanks, again!
