Star Systems . Aesop's Fables

I think fables are fun to read for children and adults. I know I'll be visiting this site very often with my children. I got interested in fables thanks to the eLiteracy and Learning course I took at my college. Now I am taking English Lit and had to do Booktalk and choose Fables genre.

What a great site! I teach French and am doing a short section on Jean de la Fontaine. My students (high schoolers)didn't know any fables and wasn't sure who Aesop is. Thanks to your site they can have a taste of both!

I would like to congratulate you on an excellent site. My son needed to submit fables as part of a school project and this was the site that I helped him get most his materials. More good sites like this should propagate. If moral values are taught more often, then the world would be a better place.

Another jaded net browser who was wowed! I shall return... This labour of love will endure. What a wonderful gift to others. After watching Jean Cocteau's fantastic 1946 film of "La Belle et la Bête", (The Beauty and the Beast) I ended up at this site to try to find out where this man/beast idea originated... Wonderful site! I thought I was the only wild enthusiast for Aesop -- and I modestly mention my new book on Aesop PRAYERS AND FABLES from Sheed & Ward (l998) -- but your collection will help me do Volume Two. Each fable is rhymed, and there are 40 in each book (but I haven't found a publisher for the second bunch). If you can't find the book, I can send you one from home Email Shalom

Aesop fables were taught in public schools in America. As you may know the Middle East contributed as well as Africa's "Aesop" is highly regarded in the KJV of the Bible. Aesop expanded our thinking, it build character, certainly caused us to quickly dismiss a rumor. "The Sky is Falling!"

Comments - I think Aesop's Fables should be taught in school at a young age because they teaches moral values that are important to learn if we want to stay the greatest country in the world. Right now there's a shooting at Jonesboro Ark. Where are morals? We need something to impress on younger people and children.

Brilliant. What a wonderful way to spend an evening--reading through such richness. Makes me feel like the same child who enjoyed these same stories at bedtime--again and again and again. Thank you for such a wonderful site!!

Thanks for your wonderful site. The first time I was trully excited, now I am more appreciative of all your efforts and hard work --- it shows!! I appreciate that you keep adding new and refreshing material -- such as the Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Anderson. This is one of those few sites that all, young and old, can enjoy for years to come... Your Generosity, in the time you put into this site, and your approachable style, in offering insights and assistence with Real Audio etc., is very appreciated. THANK YOU, Thank You, thank you!!! I am also looking forward to reading the works of other authors (we needed a moral to one of Aesop's fables - but I never realized that he had so-o-o many). Keep up the good work.  Your Aesop's Fables site is one of the best things
I've run across on the Web in a long long time. Like
millions of others, I grew up with these tales and I
feel like a kid again to be able to read new ones.
And what's even better is that now I get to share
them with my own children.
Thanks to you.

It's very obvious that you put lots of continuing time
and effort into this site and it really shows. I'm a
jaded old Net vet, but you've earned a place in my
permanent bookmarks and I look forward to
returning again and again.

Your site is a shining example of what's right about
the Web and
we need a thousand more like you
churning out unique, compelling and useful content.

...Steve Cox

PS: Please tell your daughter she has done
a great job too!
