These websites will help us with our lesson plans. that one about the box is awesome too. and the one about the time magazine one. oh, yeah and the one with morgan freeman is good too. | ||||||||

| March 10, 2008 - 04:52 AM I will be teaching literature in first year (students are 13 mostly) at a bilingual school. Students are supposed to have an intermediate/upper int. level by now and I am not having much help in terms of what I should teach. They have not and it seems they will not give me any syllabus or bibliography...so I must do all the decisions as to what students will be reading....so any ideas are welcome...what do these kids like reading? | February 26, 2008 - 08:33 AM I have been exploring the net all day and happened onto your site. I am a pre-service teacher in a field environment. This is my senoir class. I am faced with a dillemma and need a hand. The teacher I am woking with is tenured and not very optimistic about her future seeing the money/funding crunch we are in in Ohio. I want more for the students that I am touching in HER room everyday, I am committed to these Middle Schoolers from a low SEC but feel like my hands are tied. Any advice for the weary? | February 14, 2008 - 10:00 AM I discovered this site today and it is great. I have been teaching Title I reading for 23 years and it is a great resource for reading strategies. I like the lesson plans and plan to use some of them in the future . Our school is working toward a computer site that will be able to be utilized by all teachers in the state of WV. It is so nice connecting with teachers all over the world. | ||||||||

| February 04, 2008 - 09:27 AM I work in a cross-cat. classroom. One class is jr. high age and the rest are senior high. The students change classes each period. I am wondering if anyone with students this age has any good ideas for incentive/behavior plans to encourage cooperation and cut down on problems. We have tried homework and snack passes and also each month I have a movie day for those without discipline issues. Any other great ideas - I need some variety! | ||||||||

| February 01, 2008 - 12:46 PM This site is IMPRESSIVE. I coordinate the new teacher mentor program for our district. We are exploring the possibilities of setting up a site just like this. However, we have met with reluctance as some administrators are worried about quality-control. What quality control measures have you put in place on this website? Do you have curriculum experts checking the lesson plans and tips regularly to be sure they are accurate, reflect best practices and reflect NC policy? Teachers-do you worry about quality? What is it you like about having access to a site like this? What is it teachers really need to be able to best meet the needs of their students-a curriculum guide or access to supports like this? Have you had any negative experiences? These are informal questions from a person who is really committed to offering the new teachers the best possible services. I look forward to your responses. I"m now doing my thesis about how to teach teachers to interact with children with special needs, specially autism and hyperactive children, in preschool. I NEED A HELP- I hardly find any books here in my country about those topic since educating children with special needs ia a new step in our education. I also need to know about basic values or basic skills that teachers should have to interact with children with special needs. I have browsed in internet to find books that I may need, but most of the websites I have visited didn"t tell us about the contents of those books. it made me hard to select which books fit on my thesis.
